Development Update

As we come to the end of the first month of Far West, the time has come for a development update, detailing our plans for the coming month.

First of all, now that we’re up and running, this website will be moving from daily updates to a three-days-a-week schedule. The reason for this is simple: We’re kicking into high gear on development of actual Far West products for release (the role-playing game being the first), and need to devote more time to that process rather than the daily material on the site. The site will still be continually updated, but will be shifting to a Monday/Wednesday/Friday schedule for the time being. You can expect a development or inspirography article, a setting article, and a vignette each week, as work proceeds down the home stretch to the launch of our first available products.

The big news for July is that we’ll be launching the Kickstarter crowdfunding project for the limited-edition Far West RPG on Monday, July 11th. The accompanying video is underway, and I think you’re going to love it. During the 30-day run of the Kickstarter, we’ll have lots of updates about the program which will appear on the Kickstarter page, and we’ll also copy those here (but they won’t be considered part of the official site schedule — think of them as bonus content).

The results of our poll for what projects you’d like to see next (following the launch of the RPG) are in, and the clear winner was a fiction line — novels and short story anthologies released in print and various eBook formats. So that’s next on our development slate, and we’ll be making announcements about titles and authors by the end of August. Stay tuned.

Before that, though… we will soon be announcing a way that you can participate and help to shape the world of Far West. More on that, though, after we launch the Kickstarter.

As always, thank you for reading.
