Hey there, folks — Taking a brief breather from working on the FAR WEST Adventure Game to post the following video update, which was filmed for our Kickstarter backers. It gives a brief look at where we stand in the project, and then a discussion of some of the research materials that we’ve been using on FAR WEST. The FAR WEST Kickstarter project began on July 11th 2011, and ended at 3:58pm Central Daylight Time yesterday — August 25th 2011. We had asked for $5,000 — basically enough for me to pay my co-developers up front, and get a number of folks interested in our strange little Wuxia-Western mash-up, by providing them with a cool Limited Edition of the RPG. The FAR WEST Kickstarter is galloping along. We passed the 10K mark, which means that all backers will be receiving an exclusive supplement, LEGENDS OF THE FAR WEST which won’t be appearing anywhere else. If you haven’t pledged as a backer yet, go right ahead and do so — anyone who signs on before the end of the Kickstarter on August 25 is eligible to receive all of the benefits, even the ones that appeared as specials before they pledged.
As we mentioned in our last update, we launched the Kickstarter crowd-funding project for the FAR WEST Limited Edition Adventure Game on Monday. We set our minimum goal at $5,000 US. We achieved that minimum goal within 15 hours of launch. I don’t think I’ve seen any RPG Kickstarter reach that level of funding so rapidly. FAR WEST is quick on the draw!
