TALES OF THE FAR WEST
The FAR WEST Kickstarter is galloping along. We passed the 10K mark, which means that all backers will be receiving an exclusive supplement, LEGENDS OF THE FAR WEST which won’t be appearing anywhere else. If you haven’t pledged as a backer yet, go right ahead and do so — anyone who signs on before the end of the Kickstarter on August 25 is eligible to receive all of the benefits, even the ones that appeared as specials before they pledged.
For those following the Kickstarter, you’ll have seen that we set our next goal ($13.5K) and announced our next special offer. But I realized that we didn’t officially announce the product that IS that special offer over here. So here we go:
The next project in FAR WEST will be a line of fiction, available in ebook formats and in print via this site, as well as Amazon, Smashwords, Barnes and Noble and other online retailers. We’re launching this fiction line in December with an anthology of stories we’re calling TALES OF THE FAR WEST.
TALES OF THE FAR WEST will feature short fiction from a number of authors, including:
- Matt Forbeck (Amortals, Vegas Knights, G.I. Joe: Tales from The Cobra Wars, etc.)
- Tessa Gratton (Blood Magic, Werewolves & Shapeshifters, Corsets and Clockwork)
- Dave Gross (Prince of Wolves, Master of Devils, former editor of Amazing Stories)
- Shane Hensley (Deadlands: Perdition’s Daughter; The Good, The Bad and The Dead)
- Will Hindmarch (The Thackery T. Lambshead Cabinet of Curiosities, The Bones: Us and Our Dice)
- Scott Lynch (The Lies of Locke Lamora, Red Seas Under Red Skies, The Republic of Thieves)
- Ari Marmell (The Conqueror’s Shadow, Agents of Artifice, The Goblin Corps, etc.)
- Aaron Rosenberg (various novels for Star Trek, StarCraft, Warcraft, Eureka, Stargate Atlantis and Warhammer)
- Eddy Webb (Senior Transmedia Developer, CCP/White Wolf)
- Chuck Wendig (Double Dead, Blackbirds, Irregular Creatures)
- …and, of course, the FAR WEST development team of T.S. Luikart and Gareth-Michael Skarka
We’re very excited by this — TALES is shaping up to be a great collection of authors all playing in the FAR WEST sandbox, with more signing on every day (we’ll update this page as more authors confirm)!
When might we get some teasers from the RPG, such as powers and critters? That map? LOL
Oh, yeah! Any word on that “Buy more than one LE copy for an extra $50.00”?
Hell, I knew I forgot something… I’ll put it in tomorrow update. If you haven’t seen it by noon, feel free to smack me. 🙂
